On May 10, the Low Income Investment Fund, MidPen Housing, Santa Clara County Office of Education, and YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley will convene as part of Santa Clara County's Affordable Housing Month to discuss strategies, best practices, and challenges in efforts to co-locate child care facilities with affordable housing developments.

Including child care in housing has significant benefits for children, families, and communities, but it requires developers and child care providers to navigate new and often disconnected regulatory and financing landscapes. During this discussion, panelists will reflect on their experiences co-locating child care facilities with housing developments and offer recommendations to policymakers and practitioners on tools for meeting families' needs in Santa Clara County.
