Across the Bay Area, cities have made dozens of policy commitments in their housing elements to promote affordable homes and protect tenants over the next seven years. In order to help enforce these commitments, the Housing Leadership Council has created a crowd-sourced policy tracker listing every major policy in every housing element throughout San Mateo County.
During this session, HLC policy manager Jeremy Levine will explore how advocates, planning staff, developers, and more can use the tracking tool to help cities follow through on their obligations. At the end of the session, participants will understand strategies they can use to leverage state law to promote affordable homes.
